NBA Street makes it's next-gen debut a solid one.

NBA Street Homecourt is the latest iteration in the original street basketball series. The over the top gameplay and trick moves are back for another go-round, this time on next gen consoles. The gameplay will feel very familiar to anyone who has played an NBA Street game before. You have 2 trick buttons to pull off a variety of crazy trick moves. There are many different tricks to pull off. However, this number seems lower than in the previous Street games. You also have an assortment of dunks, including the new double dunks. A double dunk is always absolutely insane looking, and gives you 2 points. There are only a few of them, but they never got old. Unfortunately, the rest of the game does. The games story mode, the Homecourt mode, is extremely short. It takes maybe 3 hours at the most to complete. And thats all you get for single player game modes. There is online for ranked and unranked games, which works well. But it doesn't keep the game from burning out almost as fast as it gets started. The graphics look great, with good looking character models. However, the game uses the "light bloom" effect almost to an extreme here, and it only makes the game look worse. But the graphics are definately solid. The soundtrack is fine, but nothing special. In the end, NBA Street Homecourt is a solid game that could have used a bit more time. With a few more different modes and a bit more depth, NBA Street could have been a real winner.
