Great basketball game, still behind the 2K series, but some major problems that can ruin the experience.

Reaching too far....?

You can give EA sports credit... they were looking to put the player in complete control of their environment; only problem... they reached too far! Theirs a reason why just anybody can't coach a Pro-basketball team. EA has brought a complexity to the game, and most gamers are just there to play basketball!! I give them props for trying, but for a game as complex as basketball, you'll get very few people utilizing the whole potential in the game!

Personally, I am not a sports game fan. My personal view is that you should go out and play the real deal instead of sit inside and play it on your Xbox 360.

However, when I tried NBA Live 08, I was instantly hooked. It was the first sports game I had ever bothered buying after renting, and unless I get a real urge to buy NBA Live 09, it will probably be the last.

08 is a superb sports title, although it is not without its quirks and polygon-catching problems every now and then. As for gameplay, the handling of the character and the ball is very good, but shooting and passing can be bothersome if you get one or two buttons mixed up, and can cost you an entire basketball game.

The sounds are realistic and the music is good when it is used. The graphics are so realistic that sometimes you think that the players are going to leap out of the TV and complete a slam dunk on the wall behind you.

All-in-all, a game that everyone can enjoy, even people who aren't sports fanatics.
