Almost like being there

This game was given to me by a friend who works at a gaming company and I really wasn't thrilled about it, but thought I would give it a try. I'm addicted!! My team is the Sonics and I was able to trade for Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis so that I now have the team we WOULD have had if the owner Clay Bennett hadn't purposefully ruined the team as part of his scheme to bring it to Oklahoma City. The game is so realistic that my wife walked into the room and watched for a few minutes before exclaiming "Oh my God! This isn't real!". Even the voice of the Sonics PA announcer is accurate and Key Arena, one of the best arenas for basketball in the country, is dead on. After playing for a couple of days, I can now beat the machine on it's rookie setting. There are a multitude of plays that I've yet to learn, so I'm kind of just winging it, but it's still loads of fun. The only reason that I'm not giving it 10 stars is that the commentary can get tiresome, when you've heard the same remark about a player for the umpteenth time. Still... you have to give the designers credit for making the commentary sound so fluid and not at all robotic. The "create a player" tool is fun to play around with too. I created the 7'6", 350 lb. "Mongo" as my center and I must say, he looks to have a promising career.
