I have been a long time fan of NBA Live series. Since the Sega Genesis days. I knew last years Live sucked but I figured they had no time to really make a good game. This year they have NO excuse. I was very exited to try this game. I was sure that it was going to be better than 2K7. Boy was I wrong. I will also say that this review is based on 20 min of play. That was all it took for me to put the controller down in disgust. What I loved about the LIVE series was that the controls were tight, and that all the moves were instant. I loved the arcade feel to it. Now my heart is broken. I REALLY thought something was wrong with my controller. It was like having an echo. The player was always a split second behind. Even when you shoot, it was always late. Changing directions made the player looked like he tripped on the court. Very frustrating when I was trying to fake a player and I was the one getting faked. The Camera was another issue. 3 modes just not enough. 2K7 got like 15! The classic "High angle, from behind" look is gone. You feel more like your a spectator, not a player. After the disappointment I rushed to BB and rented 2K7. That's when I realized how much LIVE sucked! Even though I'm not used to 'isomotion' and the controls, I felt at home again. It made me WANT to learn the game. I used to be a 2K7 HATER, not anymore! I hope EA get's it right next year.
Imagine if EA had the exclusive rights of the NBA license like they do with the NFL, That would really SUCK!

Good basketball sim that is under-rated by alot!!
First off the menu screen is a practice session with Tracy Mcgrady which is pretty awesome and you can change who you would like to practice with. There are not that many game modes but they are there such as Dynasty mode which is very deep, fun, and lengthy. Also, All star weekend is great exspecially the Slam Dunk Contest. Creating a character is pretty cool as well.
The graphics are top notch. Great detail in stadium, fans, coaches, and players. Players have sweat coming off them when they play for awhile and the player animations are great.
Sound is spectacular. Commentating crew brought there A game. Crowd noises are amazing expesially when they are chanting defense during a big defensive possesion.
The gameplay is alot better than people think. The shooting is amazingly realistic because they have authentic shooting for star players. Controls are great. Dribbling and Dunking is great. A great feature of the game is the AI. Even playing on rookie the defense will intenionally foul, play tight d, call timeouts, take threes and many more.
The game has tons to do so the value is good. Once you get started on Dynasty mode you will be playing for hours a day.
So overall its a great game and yes i do recomend Nba Live 07 over NBA 2k7 because i think its a better game.
