NBA Baller Beats is a rarity indeed. It is a rhythm based game that uses actual basketball for game play.
Now I know what you are thinking, "This sounds like an accident waiting to happen..." Actually no, what you were actually thinking was probably more along the lines of, "That sounds stupid and Kinect sucks."
Well, you are entitled to your opinion. But for those who like to take the time to set things up properly I would like to point out that NBA Baller Beats is among one of the most RESPONSIVE Kinect games I have ever played.
Keep in mind, Kinect is very demanding for the amount of space and lighting that it requires for it to work properly.
Now once you have the right Kinect set up, the next step is to have an open enough space to bounce your ball and hopefully its on a hard floor. Now I have a carpet so this increases the difficulty since I have to bounce harder. Luckily, I am an avid basketball player and I actually have some dribbling skills.
Once you get the hang of how the rhythm system works, the next step is to learn the tricks. Its pretty simple really. Cross over right to left, left to right, Through the legs right to left and left to right, around the back, pump fake, jump fake, fake pass left, fake pass right are your rookie level tricks. If you can get through this you are ready for the next level difficulty. This is in comparison to your DDR Basic, standard and Heavy modes.
NBA Baller Beats is not easy if you've never played basketball before. I can see how it could turn some people off. You gamers who have never really played a sport may want to pass on this one, but that doesn't make it a bad game; far from it. For my fellow ballers out there who are familiar with the pill, this is a game that will have you coming back for more again and again. That is assuming you have a good Kinect set up with Ample room.
Fair Warning: This game can do damage if you lose control of the ball.
