Although its good, there's little reason to have 2K7 if 2K6 already grew tedious. A couple new moves, a couple bells and whistles here and there, but all in all, nothing worth the new investment in time or money. If you've never explored the 2K series games, don't get me wrong, they're great as a whole, but with every season you should be getting more and not just a different date on the box. Its clear they were investing their time into the 360 title.
I was actually happy to play this game. You get to play with the superstars signature shots, which was a suprise, since all the bonus features have been added in the next generation consoles. That's just a little change in the game, other than that it's the same as last years.. But I'd rather play 2K7 instead of 2K6
I give this game a 5 out of 10, mainly because there are many other and earlier types of Basketball video games out there that I think are much better and realistic than this one.
The first thing I noticed was that if you want to play a team that is lower rated than yours, the ratings aren't usually a factor. You can be playing a team 30 overall rating points lower than you, and can be down 35-15 going into halftime. In reverse, you can play the same team again in a different match, and totally kill them. I found this aspect of the game very inconsistent.
Also, I found that this game lacks action, in the sense that the computer is very easy to read, and you can easily figure out its next move. I thought this game was pretty boring for the most part, even during the "season" or "playoff" modes.
For the reasons above, I give this game a 5 out of 10.
