Solid Game With Few Finishing Touches Needed

This is by far the best bball game I've played on any system to date. The control is superb, graphics are sweet, and fun factor online is off the charts. While online play is great fun, it is a bit of a pain to get your network connection set up optimally to be able to find / start games easily. I had to open a port on my wireless network (search online) to use the online function. Without this, I got the same error over and over again and could not start a game. All in all, with a little work on the online system, this is a hit hands down!

Could Have Been Better (Worth a rental)

Players will rarely dunk the ball unless you change the settings.

Fouls are called every 30 seconds unless you change settings.

24/7 mode (street ball mission) is repetitive. You play the same games over and over again and have to team up with weak no names. The street ball moves you learn hardly work on players but always work against you.

Create a baller is cool. Season mode and association mode is pretty in depth.

Good in game commentary for regular games. No commentary whatsoever for street games.

No player intros!

Has allstar teams from the 50s all they way to present. Disappointing that big names like Jordon, Pipen, Barkley, David Robinson, Stockton, K Malone, etc aren't on the 80s/90s teams.

No 1080p resolution! Could have been better for us Next Gen Gamers! Worth a rental though.

enough with the comparisons

This game is very well built, has excellent graphics, and true to life game play. I've read many reviews that had more than a hint of bias concerning which NBA game is the best. It's one thing to say "this game plays like Live 07, but..." but it's completely something else to say "2k7 has nothin' on live 07". First off, live '07 isn't even on the ps3, so why're you comparing them? for now, i'd say the majority of people only have on next-gen system, and one current-gen system. Secondly, 2k7 is more of a basketball sim than an arcade hit. So playin' like you're kobe bryant and dissin' the rest of your team is going to be frustrating - cause that's how life is.

Let's be fair in our reviews. No one likes to read some bigots' fanfare.
