"The Life Volume 1" is brutally hard. A few minutes in, you have to win a 2-on-2 basketball game in which you and your teammate have minimal attributes and miss a good portion of your shots. But the other team pretty much never misses... and IT'S MAKE IT TAKE IT! So they make every shot and then get the ball back. Your teammate also has a habit of throwing out of bounds. I found it to be impossible to win and simply sent the game back

The regular NBA Season portion is seperate from the "Life" feature but is rather mediocre compared to other NBA games that are on the market.

If you're buying it for the Season Mode... you can find better. And if you're buying it for the new "The Life" feature then you're getting excited over nothing because they make it impossible from pretty much the start. This game gets a ONE!

This game seemed like it had a lot to offer. The mini-games were entertaining, and the game play was alright. The thing that drove me crazy was the tediousness of The Life. Not only are you stuck into one role (PG) but you're limited as to what you can do with your player. Some taks take a good amount of luck, and a larger amount of patience to pass. I remember playing one scenario for approx 2 hours because of the strict pass/fail scoring system.
The Season mode leaves a lot to be desired too. The game allows you to trade whoever you want for whoever you want. SO, in essesnce you can be an All-Star team, and cruise through the entire season undefeated on the highest skill level quite easily. Think of this team: J Kidd, LeBron, T-Mac, Shaq, and Jermaine O'neal as your starting five? The game should have some trade approval system limiting the nobody for all-star trades.
