Despite a 2-yr layoff, the 1st NASCAR game since EA's N '09 was in a word...disappointing. Controls were good but the slowdown in the graphics was so annoying and after a few hrs made the game unplayable! While the tracks and cars are rendered with impeccable quality, the slowdown makes the slightest adjustment either too soon or too late and you never get your car where you want it to be. Qualifying is a chore, be prepared to start in the bottom half no matter what. The sounds of the game are quite good but the announcers are both unfamiliar and redundant to me. Would have been nice to have the FOX, ESPN or even SPEED guys do the voice-overs. While I applaud this 1st effort, its a work in progress and I'll expect a better game next year. Oh the pit stops are menu driven and require a bit of tuning up as well...I'd like to see the pits based on cars need rather than have the driver select...he has enuff to worry about!

extra for. Thank God EA didn't get thier hands on this game. I refuse to keep paying extra to race online. This game let's you participate for free. That being said, the multiplayer is flawed. There was a patch but people are still finding ways to glitch and cheat. The most fun that i had was racing against friends that were'nt cheating.
The single player campaign is a little boring but as you progress through it, you unlock invitational races that are quite a challenge. This is where the game excells. I love the ideas put together for the different events and that will keep my intrest to want to replay these challenges.
Not an easy achievement game. You really need to put in some time to get the full 1000.
