Getting there, but not smooth enough and not a comfortable driving game. Too many rough edges in the way that the cars drift too much without a driving wheel, the car customization comes with no help from jeff gordon which would have been nice, and the overall look and feel of the game is not graphically clean enough as it should be for a 3rd year PS3 title.

After spending a week with it, I'm more frustrated by the slow load/save times for car setups, the struggle to drive a clean race without fighting drift from over sensitive analog sticks, and for a game that requires such precision, it should be more forgiving.

The depth of the game is good but "unlockables" is a bit dated. A full open game from the outset in career mode should be an option. What if I dont want to race nationwide series with a weak sponsor and a triple digit car number? What if I want to jump right in as a Sprint cup driver? Sorry, cant do that til you go through the NW series. Ugh.

This game should be so much better than it is.

...could still use some competition in the NASCAR genre. Graphics have been tweaked a little, the option to play simulation or "arcade-style" is pretty cool, but is still missing offline multiplayer. For people who still love to invite people and actually have the desire to play friends face to face, this used to be a game that satisfied that necessity. Online play is a little hit or miss. I have a 10mbps connection, and it still froze up the game or randomly (sometimes in the middle of a race) disconnected me from the EA server. This game does, however, do a much better job of portraying the business side of NASCAR. I wouldnt buy it, but at least worth a rent if like playing in solitude.
