Some may say that this is just another mindless hack 'n slash game in the vein of Dynasty Warriors.
Well in a way that is true. You set out on a typical quest to secure parts of lands important to the empire you serve. Good VS Evil, pretty generic story line. If you can forgive the less than original story line and are not sick of hack n' slash games like Dynasty Warriors, or are considering a game of this type stop and pay attention here before you spend any money! Forget about the 360 iteration of Dynasty Warriors and go strait to N3. This game is vastly superior in game play mechanics, visuals, level and sound design. It really is a strait forward slice 'em and dice 'em game but with plenty of challenge and great fun. You will notice right away at the massive amount of enemies on the screen at one time for your stabbing pleasures, and stringing together hundreds of combo moves to great delight. Getting your kills in the thousands during any one mission is just as much fun as stringing hundred of combos together...let the bodies hit the floor! Enjoy the fluid leveling up scheme to enjoy knew stunning special attacks, and along the way unlock additional playable characters, and power ups. You also must enter your missions with some strategy in mind as you control two divisions to accompany you in battle, however they seem dumb as rocks and I found the archers useless. Stick to the Infantry Heavy Inf. and Pikemen. Thankfully you cannot kill your own friends, because the shear volume of people on the screen at any given time is overwhelmingly confusing as to who's who. Collect red orbs with your standard attack to fill your meter for a spectacular special attack, and while doing so you inherit the oh so wonderful blue orbs that unleash devastation, and carnage from your blade on the enemy and or the bosses.
there is really nothing new here I admit. But if you just want to mash, hack, and slash away hundreds of bad guys beautifully rendered on one screen this is it.
