When playing My Sims, my daughter had a very hard time doing this. She couldn't change her character's appearance, though she could move the hand around on the screen on the Wii. If she clicked on a button, it would make a noise as if the appearance had changed, but didn't show it.
Also, when she tried to create new furniture; as the game is about, it would stay on the same screen when she tried to click over to another set of wooden shapes.

For all you Sims lovers (and other RPG/Sims like gamers) DO NOT, I repeat: DO NOT rent/buy this it will be a waste of time/money and an AWFUL way to spend time. Why do they even make you build stuff? It just makes no darn sense. I repeat (again) don't blow your money/time on this.
I understand the rating of this game only means there is no violence however I thought it would be easy for my kids to use. My children are five and six and play a lot of other Wii and Gamecube games. This game was very hard to control and understand, I tried to help and also had a hard time. We only tried it one time, it was such a dissapointment we mailed it back right away.
