My Spanish Coach for Nintendo DS Reviews by Gamers

I thought this game would help to refresh my memory of Spanish so that I could more effective communicate with some of my neighbors, however it was not what I expected. There is a lot of repetition, which is great, however you are strictly repeating vocabulary for so long that it soon becomes boring. It would be much more effective to actually teach you to speak or read the language if you were not only required to identify vocabulary words, but also use them or at least pick the correct usage out of a list of choices more frequently.

One additional feature that would be nice, although I don't know if it would be possible on the DS, would be a dictionary/translator where you could look up a phrase in either language and get it translated into the other. This would be great for traveling and a real plus for those who truly are wanting to learn to communicate.

Also it is recommended that you play the game with headphones. It would be nice if the volume were louder both with and without headphones, I could barely hear it with the volume all the way up without headphones and it was not much better with headphones.

I have played several other of the My Coach series games and been quite impressed with them, but was rather disappointed with this one. I hope this review was helpful.
