Having a blast with it!

It brings me back to playing super nintendo in 1993 yet has new fun graphics and things to that degree that you would expect from a PS3 game. It still has the ladder with the "feets of strength" and the different challanges along the way. There's a 2 playere tag-team ladder as well as the singal player, the tag-team can be really fun playing with the right person. The story mode was even cool. A little corny at times but still fun and through-out. You see some of the orgins of characters and/or the story behind some. You get points through-out the story mode as well as earning them in the ladder, these points can be taken to the "krypt" where you can unlock things from fatalities, music and artwork; which all lead to each characters alternate costume. I didn't beat it all yet so still more fun to be had. I'll be keeping this game for longer than I would normally keep a game. I may buy it.

If you grew up playing the original Mortal Kombat, you weren't that impressed with some of the new MK games, but that changes NOW. Mortal Kombat is finally out and more bloodier than ever! It's back to the old 2-D which is great for you MK fans. Your favorite characters from MK1-3 are back and they look more brutal than ever.

All the fatalities in the game will make you say "oh thats cool and gross" the new attack move the X-rays, will make you do the same and they're all so bloody! I'm a Mortal Kombat fan and this is the best one in the series.

If you love MK, then you'll have a blast with the story, ladder, challenge tower, online, and trying t collect everything you can. It's time for you to GET OVER HERE!!

Some of my earliest gaming memories are the Mortal Kombat franchise. I still remember the blood code in fact, so i hold MK games to a high standard. One that i am afraid their last title fell short of (MK vs DC universe) after having high hopes. This one did not disappoint! They went back to the 2-d gameplay format of the original and really upped the gore on their fatalities as well as the wear and tear of each fighter over the course of each battle. They instituted a fatality trainer that allows you to preview and practice each fighters fatalities, one of the cooler features in the game actually. Only real complaint(s) are they made Shao Khan so hard to you have to play cheaply to defeat him and even then one misstep and he will kill you in a few successive moves. Also PSN has been down since its release so i have yet to go online and test my mettle against the masses. Very fun game overall and the challenge tower adds a little extra mini game flavor that kept me busy for a few hours.
