I am not good at fighting games at all. So I just play them for a different kind of game that I am used too. The story is great. But like all fighting games Its hard for me to do combos. But this game is alittle easier for me to hit the combos. But the game for me was really hard. Good thing I have my husband here to help with some of the fights. I recommend this game for anyone who is a fan of the series and of fighting games. Graphics are great, story is great.
This is a pretty fun game, with a lot of different modes and challenges. But for me, there's nothin to keep me comin back. The occasional match with a friend wouldn't justify a purchase for me. I would buy this game for 20 bucks. What I found odd was the complete lack of new content. NO new stages, and NO new characters. Really? Can I trade in some of the modes and unlockables for some new characters? They spent way too much time making the game SEEM like there's a lot to do, but with no new characters, it really feels like a "been there done that" type of experience. They went for shock value, so really nothing has changed in 20 years. Solid fighter, but mainly for Mortal Kombat fans, and after this game, I can't really say I am one. I will be interested in a new MK game, but they've made it harder on themselves by not getting the ball rolling on new content.
Pros -easy to learn -good story mode (both writing and combat wise) -characters and fatalities are sick -no character is too strong or too weak -nostalgic tribute to old games -tag team arcade and versus -really fun to fight with or alongside friend -makes me forget originals cons -bosses are difficult, you cant fight them fairly and have to resort to an often cheap strategy -need to pay for online pass -hard to unlock characters (only 2 are locked but they are sick)
