The game is good in order to get a teen rating they had to cut out much of the gore. The fatalities are horrible for some people lets take baraka who with those blades coming out of his hands cant seem to maim his opponent during a fatality. Scorpion uses the old school fatality, so does Subzero. The story is atleast good to play for both sides DC and MK. You cannot do fatalities during story mode. So far the most over powered character is Captain Marvel (that is why I play with him). Each character other than that is about equal. The close combat and Free falling combat is good as well a must rent. A word to MK. Please do a streetfighter MK game with fatalities that will be a mega seller.

Very cool graphics moves and characters. But lack of violence makes it not like any mk game. Fatalities are an absolute joke. Don;t get this game expecting to see cool fatalities because you won't, they are bad. Definitely a rental game, thank god i did not buy like i was intending. If you are a MK fan i would recommend just renting to experience it, but use your 60 bucks elsewhere. P.s. Joker rules

While this is a good mix of the characters in the fighting game genre, it isn't an overall great game. I have played through each story line, the arcade with characters from both MK and DC and tried the Kombo challenges and I feel like I'm done with the game in a little under 10hrs of game play. Once you play through the story on each side, not much of a pull to go through it again. I read a review from someone else that likened the game to an adult smut flick, very little story, then action, bad story, action, rinse and repeat. You could play through the arcade version with all 22 characters by why would you want too. I can remember playing through MKII on my SNES for hours, but, now, these style of games, without the same violence factor as the originals, leave me wanting more. It is fun to play as Batman and beat up on Scorpion, but, it doesn't have the same draw as it once did. Have to agree with another review, the Joker is probably the best character to not get bored with during a run at the arcade version.
The other factor that makes this game hard to play is the D-pad on the xbox-360 controllers. They make it hard to pull off some of the moves and fatalities for some characters.
