I'll go ahead and start my review by stating that I have logged roughly 120 hours so far on Monster Hunter Tri. I strongly believe that most games I dedicate my time to are a waste. However, because I'm having so much fun I plan to spend well over 200 hours on Monster Hunter Tri.
Now I'll tell you why ~~~
I kind of rented Tri on a whim in order to just test it out. Anyone who has played the first MH games and found them a disappointment can tell you why. I was really really really surprised when I began to play. The combat can still be felt which was probably the highlight of the first game for most. In Tri it has been polished to near perfection in my opinion. Not to mention the armor in the game is top notch. Fighting giant monsters only gets old if you think its getting old. Having a hard time? try a different weapon you'd be surprised how much it effects the way you fight. The first time that I killed something big I felt it. That rare and almost non-existent feeling that makes you well... happier than you should be.
In almost all games I play the online community is quite frankly trash. However in Tri I have yet to encounter a jerk with a keyboard... maybe I'm just lucky or it really says something about the kind of mood this game puts people in. I'm hoping its the later. It is rare that you will not be able to easily hop to another server and find a match with people willing to anything you want to do. Whether its soloing, hunting, or gathering. The friends list also works really well compared to all the other Wii games I've spent time on.
Whether its the graphics, game play, controls, camera, or concept of the game I'd say that all are well thought, well designed, and unique. Unlike this review. If your looking for a fun time with friends or by yourself pick Tri up and make some time cause this is a game that will draw you in.
Be warned though there is a slight learning curve.

I was expecting a game where you ran around through levels slaughtering the crud outta monsters. I was very dissapointed by this game. There were too many things to worry about and most of the game wasn't even about killing monsters.
