I wanted to buy Monster House for my DS. I then joined Gamefly and put it first in my que. I'm glad I rented it first! The day I got the game I put it in my DS. I was so excited. The graphics were cool and the game was looking so much like the movie! Then I hit the start button to begin the game and was so disappointed that I shut the game off and put it in the return envelope all within a matter of 10 minutes.
At the beginning you chose which character you would like to be and then once the challenge starts you are looking more at the bottom screen. This is a visual for where all the enemies are and where you should be shooting. But you are so busy looking at the bottom screen that you don't get to enjoy the graphics of the game. And when you do shoot all the enemies then you sit there wondering what's next and you look at the top screen and realize your character should be entering another room.
The design of this game could have been so much better for game play. To have to look at one screen with just a bunch of dots and then when the player gets a chance to look at the top screen to see the graphics is too much. I guess if you can multi-task well, then you might be able to handle the game. In my opinion, this game was a big disappointment and not worth buying. Or renting.
