How can you get a board game to video game port wrong? Hire EA to publish the game. First, I hate to start out so negative so I will give a few highlights of the game. Number one, nobody can cheat which seems to happen more often than not in the real board game....ok I think I covered all the positives. I won't be extraordinarily hateful of this game but I will warn people of a few things that will make this game unbearable. There is, to the best of my knowledge, no way to turn off the in game commentary or music. Sure you can play the game on silent but why would you have to do that? EVERY TIME YOU PERFORM AN ACTION THE MONOPOLY GUY WILL ADD HIS TWO CENTS IN ABOUT IT REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY TIMES YOU HAVE DONE THIS ACTION BEFORE. The music is some of the worst elevator/city music ever. Beware the trumpet solo if you play this game past midnight; it will drive you to do evil things. Also the cursor always defaults on the least chosen options, for instance, if you land on a property that is not owned you are given the option to auction or purchase. Well if you accidentally hit the confirm button without highlighting the buy option, you just initiated the auction. So you have to be really alert on this the entire game to ensure you don't give the computer players any advantages, which if you do, good luck. So take my advice and buy a really nice version of the board game that is not console based and enjoy that. Here are some of my stats on this game.
Overall score: 3/10 (I would rate it lower but sadly there are even worse games out there), Total Play Time: 4 hours (typical play time for a full game of Monopoly), Total Rental Time: 1 day
