this game thrives on creativity, with the ability to create racers, cars and tracks. this is amplified by the fact that you can download all of the formentioned from the 'share' option. saving lazy or people with less than 100hrs of free time a week, a lot of time. but that aside the game gets weak, the actual physics and game engine are good, but all else is bad. power ups are sparse with only 4 to choose from and one of those is a turbo boost.also i noticed that lv3 powerups(collect three of same for stronger effect)hardly ever hit the first place racer. of course that may be because of the next problem. if you lose sight of first place after first lap you very likly will never see it again. in tha situation the computer often goes up about a half a lap on you. in later courses (sets 4-5) this becomes an impossible gap.
all in all good multiplayer dressup fun but as a hardcore cart racer better just pull out that snes and slap mario kart back in
This game is fun. However, you can cut the corners with your boost blazing and your tires on fire. You can be 10 sec. ahead but unlike Mario kart while it's loading you back on the track don't expect to be in the lead again. It will usually bump you back to at lease 7/12. Even if you did everything right and did perfect laps it comes down to dumb luck. I ran into walls got smashed and at the last minute someone hit the E.M.P and I blocked it by hitting "O" by the way. You will find that handy. I didn't know about the trick until about 5 races into the game. However, once you do learn the tricks of the trade it's a good racer and everyone from Mario to Iron Man is in here. As for user made tracks, Daytona USA is in. Along with any ridge racer track perfectly remade with the exception of physics of the car. A great rent but wouldn't buy.

I bought this game pre-order and must say that my whole family loves it. My wife and I play with our 6 year old all the time. As far as game play it's pretty straight forward and easy to sit down jump in and play. Once you get to know the tracks and how to build up your boost/defense the Ai players aren't that bad. Now the only complaint I really have is that I think the designers got it backwards. You increase your level or notoriety by doing XP races, but most people really enjoy the casual races where you can race player created tracks, but get nothing for it as far as XP. That should be reversed. Also, as of now the online community doesn't seem that big so finding a race with more then 3 or 4 people can be quite difficult. When you do find a full race (12 players) it is quite fun and and you can really get the competetive juices flowing. Kart,Mod and track creation are all fun and you can really do about anything you want once you figure out all the little tips and tricks. Yes, the load times are a little long but overall this is a great game. If your looking for a game that the family can sit down and enjoy this is right up your alley!!
