I pre-ordered this game because I enjoyed the demo so much (and I got the yellow bag she collects in the game when I picked it up at gamestop. The bag is big enough for my laptop and all accessories!). Was it worth it? Let's see.
I gave this game an 8 out of 10 because I only give 10's to games like GoldenEye, so an 8 is a good score from me. I was going to give it a 9 out of 10, but there's little things that hold me back, such as certain times when you hang from a ledge, you can't look around quite as freely as I think you should be able to. Sometimes the moves can take some practice to pull of (especially some of the jumps in the time trials) and if you get stunned by an enemy melee attack, it's often very difficult to regain your composure before you are killed...so you'd better be on your toes.
Those things aside, the game is great (in my opinion). The ending is satisfying, but not epic by any means. It may even leave you thinking "that's it?" but the freshness of the gameplay makes up for it...or it did for me anyway. The way that you can mostly seemlessly run, leap over objects, climb pipes, wall jump, and the 180 turn button all make the game very enjoyable. If you're not sure, watch some youtube videos about it. If it looks fun, give it a try. Be warned though, there is no online play and the game can be beat in approx. 10 hours (give or take), but if you go through time time trials and get all 3 star ratings, you will invest much more time in the game. You can also download other people's ghost times online and race against them in time trials to learn the strategies they use (a feature I really enjoy).
Although some people don't like the anime style of the story telling, I do. The game is enjoyable, and you can go back through every chapter of the game and race against other people's uploaded times. It's a new experience that is definitely worth sinking your teeth into at least once.
