A very fun game. If you have friends that come over a lot, then this game is perfect. I spent hours playing Smash TV, Gauntlet, and Rampart. On the other hand, if you don't have very many people come over then you may get bored of this game. As long as you don't play 720, then you will have a great time with this game.

Best Part is the History

Midway could've done better. I don't play all the games, but I've read all the history, which is stocked with some great - although sometimes random - stuff. For starters, the navigation screen is kind of klunky. (Avoid that instinctual reach for the analog stick, for starters.) You choose the game you want to play by highlighting hieroglyphics that sit in rows (two on each side) of a screen that shows the game's intros, like you'd see in the arcade. It takes a while to figure out which game is which. The way it's all set up, it can get tedious switching between games, which you tend to do when you play a collection.

When you choose a game, you get a quick rundown of the controls while the game loads (like that - much better than hunting through an instruction book each time). Some of the games translate pretty well, some of them, like Defender, feel so primitive I almost wish I hadn't picked them up again. Gauntlet, also, loses a bit if you've played any of the newer versions. Given how old these games are, it's hard to nit-pick. Not as good as some other throwback collections out there, but a probably still a worthy addition. Sometimes, it's nice to have games like SpyHunter, Rootbeer Tapper, and Rampage around.
