I am so glad that I didn't just go out and buy this like I almost did. It looks awesome, the visual couldn't get much better but the game is disappointing. First, you can't tell what level a song is without going into it, and there are lot of songs. Most don't have a real dancing mode and the ones that do are very difficult to master. They are all ranked 1 star for practice and 2 stars to preform... doesn't say anything about the specific songs. The menus are sloppy too, after stumbling through a string of dance moves the menu pops in and out without you moving. Making it very difficult to see how awful you did. There are even dance videos for the songs where someone takes you through to "learn the moves", but they aren't even the moves used in the song! They only give them to you in a string during the song without any explanation at all. I got a good workout for a few days trying to keep up with this game, but wasn't upset at all to send it back.
This is a fun Kinect game, especially if you are an m.j. fan. The song list is great and the production values are high. The motion control works wells and response is quite good. My daughter and her friends have a great time playing it.
Only gripe I have is the portion of the screen dedicated to showing you the upcoming moves is too small to be of much use. So basically, you need to pretty much memorize the dance routine. Also, the on-screen dancers that dance along with you could be larger as well.
The kids don't seem to mind though - they love it.
If you want to sing along - you will need a microphone for the performance mode. You can always just pick "dance" though if you don't want to sing.
I'd buy Dance Central if I had to choose, it's overall a better game and the playlist is obviously more varied. But if you want to dance and you love michael, this is for you. And lets be honest - there aren't that many really good Kinect games out there.

This is a game that everyone in the family enjoys. From the youngest ones of 5 and 7 to the teenagers and of course the parents also. Most of the songs are acceptable for all ages. Hopefully they will release some more songs for it. We would be willing to pay for them with Microsoft points but that is for another day.
