If you've played Metro 2033 or Metro Last Light, your in for one threat. It's not just updated Graphics but updated gameplay and physics! They fixed things people complained about in the first games! And they even added a few new features with the games too!

Metro Redux is a touched up version of two games you may have played on last gen consoles or PC. If you've played the PC versions of 2033/Last Light, you can feel free to skip Redux unless you really want to play the DLC.

I've played both games on Xbox 360 somewhat recently and they're both solid. 2033 focused more on "survival" while Last Light played more like a modern shooter. Both are heavy in atmosphere department to the point where playing them back to back is tough. Last Light is the more polished of the two experiences and seems to flow a bit better throughout the 8-10 hour campaign (2033 is also around 8-10 hours). The story is nonsensical in my book, but the atmosphere/world is so well done it's hard to complain.

Redux adds a nice graphical sheen to 2033, but it's a bit less noticeable with the newer Last Light. It also adds a "spartan/survivor" mode to both games, enabling you to play 2033 as a modern shooter and Last Light as a survival game. Nice touch. For those who care, the game comes with 2,000 achievement points, with Last Light being the easier of the two to earn them.

It has been a while since I played a well-crafted, story driven, first-person-shooter. The story is very interesting and it is no surprised as it is based off a best selling novel.

There are two games in this release, Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light, so this will keep you busy.

Overall great rental and fantastic game.
