Through the Never ditches the life-coaching of Metallica's last movie, Monster - a documentary about the band's interpersonal problems and their intensive therapy sessions. Interesting, but not too rock 'n' roll. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Nimrod Antal, this film favors the band's heavy-as-lead music and has an awesome, stylish, adventurous storyline. Through the Never is a high-concept concert movie in which scenes of a Metallica roadie traveling through a wasted, post-apocalyptic, urban landscape are intercut with concert footage of Metallica rockin' a sold-out arena. Brash, intriguing, and very metal, this is the ultimate movie for fans of Metallica and fans of rock 'n' roll.
