The story doesn't make a lot of sense, despite some lengthy cut scenes. After you finish the main level, there are some additional cut screnes and then the credits role. It's a bit jarring.
The gameplay is okay. It's not great when you compare it to other stealth games like Hitman Absolution. You can crouch and crawl, but you can't hide in containers or hide bodies in containers. You also can't disguise yourself.
The level design is basically the same map arranged differently for the different levels. This isn't awful, but everything feels very recycled. There's just not much variation.
Although the side ops level unlock when you beat the main story mission and add some extra content, you have to find all of some patches in the main story mission in order to unlock the extra ops, which means you'll have to replay it.
I would pass on this game unless you're a fan of the series or you have nothing else to play on your PS4.
So this game is just like sx when your married. You think it was good, but its over way to quick to tell. Controls are spot on the game play is fun, just way to short. You know its short when he cut scenes are just as long as the game itself.

If most of you haven't heard about this game yet I will come out and say it. The game can take you 15 minutes to beat and at a maximum of 2 hours to complete, so yes it is short. I've seen a lot of hate coming from the length of this game and I must say it is still a better experience then say Pacman the Ghostly Adventure or X-men Destiny. This game is fun short but fun.
You play as Snake, or Big Boss, but not David Hayter's version. This is Kiefer Sutherland's voice doing Big Boss and honestly it didn't bother me too much. The voice acting has never been top notch to begin with so them changing it didn't bother me too much. You are going to this prison camp to save two prisoners Chico and Paz. Now if you are like me and only played the Metal Gears with numbers and not Peace Walker you will be rather lost. If you never played a Metal Gear; for the love of God do not pick this game up you will be so lost and have zero interest in the story. That is the entire premise to the story this is a prologue to The Phantom Pain.
The game looks beautiful, and the level is vast with many different options to take. Now it isn't just one mission you also have about 8 side missions that while still on the same map they have different objectives that will add to the game play. The game is the most modern in the series this feels closer to Splinter Cell than MGS. I love that because this will help get newer people into MGS. Yes I know I said new people stay away but still it might hook someone.
In the end this is a nice little thing to get you excited for Phantom Pain. I could only, seriously only recommend renting this, unless you are like me and just like the game and will go back into the future. Are the other arguments valid? Yes they are but the game is still a blast regardless.
