The Metal Gear Solid HD collection is yet another great port by Blue Point studios. This collection consist of MGS2: Sons of Liberty, MGS3: Snake Eater, and MGS: Peace Walker. Other then some of the bonus content missing like the ape hunting in MGS3 these are the definitive versions of these games with greatly improved visuals & frame rate, and some control tweaks. I have played through both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, and personally think the X360 is the best version for three reasons.
1. On PS3 to raise your weapon in MGS 2 & 3 you have to softly push down the square button then to lower it you have to softy release the button often resulting in you shooting since you didn't release it soft enough while on X360 you just click the left stick to raise & lower your weapon.
2. The 720p resolution is upscaled to 1080p on X360.
3. The frame rate more consistently stays at 60fps on X360.
All in all both versions are fantastic, but those reasons I listed are why I think the X360 version of this HD collection is better with the first reason being a deal-breaker. The only gripe I have about this collection is it doesn't feature the first game or its remake The Twin Snakes. If you're looking to play this series for the first time I highly recommend playing the first game or its remake or watching its animated graphic novel movie then playing this collection. I also recommend playing the games in order of release since even though the story jumps around for when it takes place, it makes the most sense this way. Like I said another great port by Blue Point studios, and one of a marvelous series.
