MGS4 Takes everything from the previous Metal Gear game's that you love and amplifies it x10. From a control point of view MGS4 is more user friendly and more streamlined then previous Metal Gear games. It is now easier to pull off CQC moves, fire weapons and less hassle to perform the more complex moves.
The camera control is more friendly this go around then in previous games. When Snake is crawling camera movement is good and most times wont hinder your viewpoint when hiding from PMC's or other enemies in the area.
Graphically MGS4 is PS3's flagship to this point, character design is excellent and voice acting also top notch. Frame rate is good, the game runs smooth, no texture pop up.
Weapons can be upgraded to your choosing which can have positive effects in recoil, stability and other area's of performance. You will also have a chance to purchase weapons via in game which is good in most players eyes. Again very streamlined from previous MGS games. As well as a new addition to the Metal Gear series.
Overall to this point MGS4 is my GAME OF THE YEAR, while that "other" game with a 4 in it was awesome it hasn't gripped me like MGS4 has. Say what you will about the story but this game will actually make you want to play all of the MGS games in the series.
New players to the series will get caught up through out the game so prior storyline knowledge is a plus but defiantly not needed. This game is the CROWN JEWEL in Kojima's long standing series.
IMO this is a buy, as it has so much you will play through multiple times. If not a buy then at least a rent through GAME FLY then a KEEPER.
While i would love to give this a 10 i can't. IMO no game is perfect although this one comes close.
As with all games nothing is perfect, enemy A.I is good but guards just like in all MGS game's have a pattern that can be learned and capitalized upon. However fans know this about every Metal Gear game.
BEST IN SERIES, GO PLAY NOW
