Let me start by getting the biggest problem out of the way: too short. This game's campaign was but a brief glimpse of what it could have been.
The plotline is still very interesting, and it addresses issues in Raiden's personality that were only alluded to in Metal Gear Solid 2.
The freeflow combat system makes for exciting combos, and being able to obliterate enemies by chopping them into dozens of pieces is rewarding to those of us who have spent a sufficient amount of time sneaking through the previous Metal Gear games. All in all, this is an exciting addition to an acclaimed series that deserves notice.

I'll make it short and sweet. It is NOT like any other MGS game, they made that clear in development. It is however a GREAT rent and if you rent it and love it buy it. otherwise the short story, extreme gore and fun game play.
Honestly it is worth trying, you'll love it and have a fun few afternoons with it or hate it. take a chance with it.
