If you are browsing and the thought, "Oh look, another MGS game!" excitedly crosses your mind...disregard that excitement. The first 30-40 minutes of play were a blast. You get to play as Raiden which was tempting enough for me as an MGS fan, but then after you have gone into "blade mode" for the 200th time in one area to slice your enemies into a billion tiny pieces, it starts to get incredibly repetitive.
This is not a bad game by any means, but having just returned God of War Acension, the last thing I needed was another hack and slash with less interesting in-fight mini games, worse upgrade potential for weapons, and a story that was so focused on action that just about every line of dialogue made me cringe.
I am an avid lover of the Metal Gear games. This one was a ton of action and had a lot of really good slicing and dicing action. Not nearly as much stealth or really having to think where to go and what to do like the originals. Good shot at trying to change it up. Game got really frustrating in some spots but if you work at it and keep trying you'll be able to get past it. It was cool that you could change type of weapons. I give it a solid 5.

This game story is decent but the game play is so bad. when you fight larger enemies the camera shifts it's own way so you can't see and that makes you get killed constantly. On top of that you have no way to dodge while your in a middle of a a combo. Call it a roll if you will. Even if you tap the button slowly you will still get hit and destroyed. It could have been a lot better
