If you're a Metal Gear Solid fan and have never tried the Aci!d series before, you might be a bit turned off knowing that this series is in fact, a card based game. But that's exactly where this series shines, as the card system works suprisingly well. When you hear the words Card Based, you probably automatically think "pokemon," but this game is far from it.
If you're new to the series, the whole point of the cards is that it determines your every move on the field. Think Final Fantasy Tactics kind of field, but on a much bigger scale with the characters being moved almost in the same manner, except in Ac!d 2, the characters are moved in real time, so if you accidently move Snake to a spot you thought was safe but wasn't, you'll get spotted in true metal gear fashion. The cards system is quite unique to this series as you can choose many cards that suit your needs or style of play, for example: You might be the type of player that likes to get up close and personal, so you would choose high movement cards mixed in with a couple of CQC cards from MGS3. Theres also sniper cards for long range and are excellent for being stealthy. It's all up to the player on how they want to assemble their deck of cards.
As for the graphics, they're amazing. Simple as that. It's a vast improvement over part 1. Though some might not like the comic book style graphics, it fits in very well, and allows for some truely stunning effects that would look out of place anywhere else. The environments are bright and vibrant, the characters are easy to see, and the character animations are fluid.
All in all, its a fun strategic game that keeps the essence of the Metal Gear franchise intact, while bringing something totally unique to the table that might not suit everybody's tastes if they're not too into Metal Gear.
