Megaman ZX Advent is an interesting take on the Megaman franchise, if not the extremely new ZX series as a whole. Many things have changed between previous games, such as the Zero series, which this game is modeled on, in the long run. For one, there's the presence of voice acting.
In previous games, you would be limited to hearing grunts or quick phrases in Japanese when jumping or using certain attacks respectively, and would have to just read all of the text. This has changed with Megaman ZX Advent. All cutscenes are fully voiced in english, as are plot related segments of the game that serve the same purpose. However, there is a downside to this. In regards to the voice acting of Ashe and Model A, the quality is rather low, and the rest of the voices are moderately good at best. In my opinion, however, this is still better than no voices at all.
This game expands upon the number of abilities that you possess compared to the previous games, and also adds some degree of difference between the two potential protagonists. In the previous game, you could have up to 7 forms, including ostensibly non-canon unlockables. In this game, your forms will number 15 by the end of the game, as you gain the ability to play as a boss after defeating them for the first time.
The gameplay itself is of fair quality, though is entertaining unto itself as in previous games, such as ZX and the Zero series, although some forms will come across as useless in certain situations, and others as more well-rounded. Unfortunately, the ease of the bosses and the final boss makes the game's difficulty lie primarily in the levels themselves, wherein you will find the difficulty to almost resemble older games, such as the 16-bit megaman X titles.
It should be noted, however, that in spite of the fact that this title is entertaining, if not unique enough to warrant attention, that the plot can only be described as generic, and far too similar to that of ZX's, though this hardly slows it down.

This review is about the game MegamanZX Advent, a game for the DS. First of all, it's perfect for the DS. Second, it has a good storyline. The game is about the character you choose. If you pick the guy, it's about a robot who tries to figure out who he really is. If you pick the girl, it's about a hunter who also tries to find her true identity. Overall, it's the same storyline only with different genders. What's good is that you get to have different powers while going through the game. Now for the setbacks. Like I said, the storyline is the same for both characters. It would be nice to have a different story for each character next time. That's about the only bad thing for this game. What's good is that it's the same 2-D platforming we all loved from the past games. My advice, rent this game if you're either a Megaman fan or a DS fan.
