This is definitely no COD the level up system sucks and the few small maps you can access without purchasing the online access for another ten bucks are nicely detailed but it really needs some nice big battlefields with lots of cover. Almost every level is a deathtrap for newbies as most re-spawn points are well covered by skilled snipers waiting to kill you immediately. This group still has a long way to go to even touch a brand like Call of Duty.
single player experience is slightly above average with some problems like framerate drop during heavy action, less than stellar AI, and seemed rather short. graphics are just average and rather drab looking. even though this game spent a long time in development its quality of play felt rushed. but there is some fun to be had here. there are some great action/battle sequences to play through. i don't think it has much replayability but its worth a rental for the single player. and i do mean single player. sadly, no co-op here.
the multiplayer is a different story all together. this game is no COD killer. if anything it made me appreciate the COD multiplayer, with all of its flaws, even more. sniping campfests are rampant. the frustration factor is very high due to spawning and getting killed right after. it seemed that most of the time i would spawn on a teammate he was being fired on or getting artillery dropped on his head. it also seemed i could empty an entire clip into an enemy and he would turn around and kill me with just a few shots. but this was also my issue with the battlefield bad company games. if the multiplayer was developed by DICE, as this game was, run far far away!!!
rented this game all excited to see if i wanted to buy the game.. the campaign is fun but what keeps the person playing the game long after beating it??? online multiplayer, especially a game like this... but without being able to test the other 50 % of the game to me its hard to justify a rental.. shame on you EA for breaking something that was not broke..
