Maximo: Ghosts to Glory for PlayStation 2 Reviews by Gamers

Presentation: 9.0 - Maximo: Ghosts to Glory is based off of the old Ghosts and Goblins series and spin offs. The environments, feel, story, controls and twist ending are very powerful.

Graphics: 9.0 - The graphics of Ghosts to Glory are not sloppy. Very imaginative and creative use of polygons and color. Plus, animations are superb.

Sound: 10 - It's hard to forget the very remarkable music and sounds of Ghosts to Glory. Instant memories; instant 10.

Gameplay: 9.5 - Gameplay is a switch from 2D to 3D in a smooth, reliable snap.

Lastin Appeal: 10 - You will NEVER master this game! This is considered to be the hardest game to perfect ever made for good reason, and secrets, rewards, and simple enjoyment made me come back over 10 times in a row!

Well was it? NO. Epic Fail. As far as the game play goes, not bad, want to play it, by all means do so. If you are a fan of Ghouls and Ghosts, and Super Ghouls and Ghosts, then I most emotionally say do NOT play this game. The dissapointment on so many different levels just by playing the first 5 mins of the game is staggering. I double jumped around in the first area, no chest. As I moved, the ground started shifting. I thought, 'ok, thats in here, thats cool'. I didn't think about getting that first key right away, probably because I got distracted by foot cheese. (you'll see if you play) I get to this chest thats just sittin there. I think 'ok, free chest, I get to start the pattern to get armor now.' Nope. I need that specific type of key to open this. wha? At this point i'm all 'whatever, maybe its just trying to be 'new' by forcing you to get keys for weapons and armor now...that might be tolerable' or so i think. I 2-hop(double jump) to the key, go to the chest and open it and get....a helmet. I'm thinking, ok, looks all gladiator-ish, I get it...maximo...not arthur. Fine. Can't wait to get more armor and start doing magical armor power moves, so guess I'll keep on goin! Lemme grab these coins first.... I continue on, break some headstones out pop....fairies. Ok, fine, I did my homework, these little thingys come in handy for continuing. W/e. I 2-hop past a tree and beholden! A chest popped outta the ground. Oh yeah, G&G all the way. Is it daggers? Spear? Some new weapon? uh....coins? They're everywhere already!Get another key, open this gate, not without getting all these coins first...keep going. uh, lots of coins everywhere, kinda makes me feel like pacman. Long story short, after opening a few more chests and getting all coins, and getting this 2nd specific type of key, I realize, this game sucks because i don't want to hunt for keys and gather coins. This is spyro, or zelda or Pacman world 2, but its not G&G save for the theme. Bad Capcom.
