One of the Best Action Games This Generation

Max Payne returns in a very strong, almost Rocky Balboa-esque fashion.

Story:
Max, after leaving the Police force and falling into a cycle of drinking and pill-popping, is contacted by an old friend who asks him to do some private security work down in Brazil. Once there, Max and his friend Passos are tasked with protecting Rodrigo Branco and his family who are extremely wealthy. Someone is kidnapped by a local gang of criminals and Max goes on a one-man crusade to set things right. The story takes many twists and turns, there is betrayal and corruption and it is masterfully told. One major complaint is that there are MANY cutscenes that constantly wrest control from the player. I don't think this is too bad, because the scenes themselves are very cinematic and set the mood perfectly. Its a trade off, less control but more cinematic. The characters are great, with Max stealing the spotlight. James McCaffrey returns as Max and brings a level of depth to the character never seen before, and you really do feel for Max.

Gameplay: The gameplay is fast and fun, with a very satisfying level of challenge. Max can now take cover, which is very useful (especially in the final levels). His signature Bullet Time mechanic is back and can really help in sticky situations. There are tons of weapons in the game, and even a few different enemies. The enemies range from local Favela gangs without shirts to private security contractors who wear bullet proof vests and helmets forcing you to either pump them full of tons of lead or carefully (and quickly) aim for their weak points. But these more difficult enemies make up the entirety of the last three levels, which are absolute meat grinders. There isn't much variety, but this is Max Payne which focuses more on shooting than anything else. AI is also pretty smart.

Graphics: Stunning. The character models & environments are beautiful. One of Rockstar's best looking games ever. Many varied locations, from night clubs to Favela

Another Great Entry from Max Payne

The gun play in Max Payne 3 is exactly how we remember it from the previous Max Payne titles. The return of Bullet Time is astounding. The Campaign was dark and gritty, at least the parts about Max's past. Once we're in Brazil it gets a little to colorful for Max Payne. The Noir style setting is now, but the story still holds some ground while maintaining Max's dark, drunken, self-pity personality. The multiplayer really did nothing for me. It's pretty unbalanced and almost 2 years after the games release, it's almost impossible to find a multiplayer match, but it's nothing special, it was just thrown in to be in there. It's a great game in the Max Payne Trilogy. I would recommend this one to any May Payne fans.

this game is the best because you can do more and more different type of shooting and you never want it to end with all his shooting and new game features the name just does not set close to how it is in the game all I can say is that they really have step there game up and that's why I think this deserves a 10 point rating thank you ESRB for making this the best game ever
