Mass Effect 3
3rd Person cover shooter, RPG
Controls: Responsive and easily picked up controls.
The ability to stop and access the fight to apply proper tactics is an exceptional tool, but can be abused by helping quickly turn around in close quarters combat.
Story: Brings back most, if not all people from the earlier games to tie off everyone's individual story. If you didn't play the first one, you will have no problem picking up the game and understanding what going on, between codecs and in game dialog. Voice acting has gotten better over the last two iterations as well. The ending was not as inspired as it could have been, and your prior choices changed the content of this game rather than the ending.
Pacing: This is a lot more action oriented than the previous titles. There is significantly less down-time on planets where you will engage in combat. The game feels a bit short however, when compared to the previous titles.
Visuals: Very good work on NPC visuals. You can read the facial expressions on people when you talk to them which help with the dialog options. The lip sync is a bit off, and I had problems where my characters eye would stick out past the eyelid with certain facial animations. This seems to only occur with certain facial builds and won't apply to everyone.
Multiplayer: This is a single player review only as I do not have access to XBOX live.
Overview: A solid game. If nor for a lack of epilogue, which is needed for the ending style they chose, the would be as perfect a game as I've seen lately.
