Let me first state that I love this game i first played it on Xbox and was enthralled. I have a friend that i live with that has a PS3 and i wanted him to share in the glory that is Mass Effect. while watching over his shoulder, i noticed that it is the same game that i love plus more content and better graphics. My only gripe with this amazing game is that during important cutscenes the sound would be off from the visuals. a minor but crucial detail when completely enjoying a game. don't let this deter you away from this amazing game, just be prepared for it.
Mass Effect 2 is one of the best games I have ever played. I was amazed with the amount of detail that is provided in this game which makes you better appreciate the economics, politics and culture of a galactic society in the 22th century. I really enjoyed the combat system. I played the game as an adept and I really enjoyed using the different abilities on the many enemies I found throughout the game. The game is very versatile when it comes to deciding how you fight. The six different classes can suit all tastes whether you want to shoot at all times or prefer a more stealth-oriented gameplay. The game is massive. It took me over 50 hours to play though the game. The side quests are well thought out and quite fun to complete. The ability to make choices throughout the game makes the game entirely yours. You will be frequently given options on how to deal with a situation. These decisions can be quite difficult however. There is a lot of ethical issues that you may want to consider before making a decision. Your party members will constantly remind you of the implications of your decisions. Sometimes the decisions will have little impact, but there are at least two situations in which your decision can have an impact on the entire galactic society. One of the problems I had with this game is that the leveling system is a little too linear and too simplistic. You don't have that many skills to develop and the choices of how you expand your abilities are a bit limited. I must point out though that I played as an adept which heavily relies on their abilities rather than on guns so someone who plays as a soldier who relies more on weapons may not feel the limitation of abilities so much. I definitely recommend this game. I just recommend people not to rush through the game. It is obvious the developers spent a great deal of time and resources pulling this masterpiece together. Rushing your way to the end won’t give you the chance to fully appreciate the game.
