Great game, a worthy rental!

After playing through ME1 twice and renting ME2 for just long enough to get through the first few missions before having to return it, I knew I would love the next chapter in the game. BioWare is the preeminent RPG dev for any platform as far as I'm concerned. If you like any of the work they've done previously, you'll most likely enjoy the Mass Effect titles as well. If you haven't played ME1, you can still jump into this game and have a pretty good idea of what is going on after the first mission or so. There's a ton of background that you won't have, but it isn't essential to playing in the long run.
I thought the game was set at a much better pace than the first one, and most of the tedium has been removed from the sequel. There are more sensible things to do now, but there are also some annoying (but necessary) things that linger, like mining planets for elements. At least it's not like cruising around in the MAKO as in the first game.
Anyway, if you like RPGs and you've got anywhere between 20 to 40 hours to put into a game, then this is a great way to do it and enjoy yourself... or you could go out and do some yard work or something. Your choice. This game is a lot more fun than yard work though. Just saying.
