I played Batman Arkham Asylum and loved it! (getting 1000/1000 gamerscore in two weeks) So I was excited for what I was hoping to be another fantastic superhero game! Boy was I wrong.
First off the gameplay is repetative, so much so I could barely stand going through the campaign once! This game is button mashing at it's worst, I pressed the A and B buttons so much I'm afraid they may be worn out.
The graphics leave room for improvement. Cutscenes looked fantastic but the actual gameplay is not up to par for the X-box 360. Explosions don't look great and the camera can be so annoying at points I had trouble seeing where I was going or seeing enemies right in front of me.
I also didn't get the feel of a real RPG. The choices I made in dialouge had no real effects on my morailty. That was very dissapointing as well. I would have liked that to change my characters action more.
Two positives I can draw from the game is that the dialouge was great and the story fantastic! especially for Spiderman and Deadpool. In the level where he joins your team I was consistantly cracking up at the comments he made as I fought through washington D.C.
The story was deep and worked on so many levels. Without giving too much away there is doubling crossing, twisted plotlines, and plenty of conflict.
Overall it was a dissapointing experience all over. I wouldn't recommend this game for anyone except die hard Marvel fans. They are the only one I can see enjoying this.
this game felt more like a chore than a game. the controls are very simple and every character feels pretty much the same. the fusion attacks are fun but get old. total button masher and gets boring after a level or two. i liked the idea with the plot and the storyline is interesting but the gameplay is bad
