High barrier to entry

To someone not familiar with this series or this type of game, I found the controls to be an extremely high barrier to entry. Right away I'm supposed to be able to fluently control 4 superheroes, their powers, and their upgrades with absolutely zilch in the way of a learning curve or any real tutorial. Because of this I was relegated to just pounding buttons instead of making use of any of the character's powers. When I heard that this game's story was based on the Marvel Civil War storyline, I went and bought the trade paperback to read it. Upon playing the game, I found myself more interested in reading the comics. I mailed it back the same day I got it.
