Yep the main problem I have with the Wii, fun for about 20mins and then the depth of the game comes through. Why on earth do they put some of the classic courses on here? Yeah Bowsers Castle for GBA was awesome!!! Some of the courses take 20sec to race, Awesome!!!! Wii may be the best selling console but the amount of good games is few and far between. I don't hate this game but replay ability is why I like games and this one gets old quick...
This version of Mario Kart is certainly the best looking of any entry in the series to date. The motion controls work surprisingly well. And the sheer number of characters in the game is very appreciated. The gameplay is where people will love or hate this game. Casual gamers will enjoy the low level of difficulty. Hard core gamers may become quickly bored with how easy the courses are. They may also be frustrated with power-ups that rob you of a first place finish. Mario Kart Wii is best played with friends locally or over the net.
This game completes the amazing Mario Trilogy of Super Strikers Charged, Smash Brothers Brawl, and now Mario Kart. These three games alone are reason enough to buy a Wii. Mario Kart Wii does a great job of blending the old with the new, combining new and classic tracks.
Almost every aspect of this game is fantastic. The Wii wheel gives you a fantastic experience, but even if you can't stand it, you can switch up to the nunchuk, a classic, or Gamecube controller. Thus, anyone can master this game, even if they aren't comfortable with the Wii platform. Racing against the computer is great fun, as is racing against friends. The online play is fantastic, the best on the Wii so far.
My only complaint is battle mode. I was disappointed that classic three balloon battles are not an option. Instead, they have timed battles. They still use balloons, but they don't really mean anything. The array of battle modes on Double Dash was superior to the Wii version. This complaint, however, was not important enough for me to rate it anything less than a 9. The rest of the game is simply too good to rate it any lower.
