Few video game titles have ever been as much fun as Mario Kart was on the Nintendo Game Cube. So, when I heard Nintendo was releasing a Wii version of MK, I was both excited and a bit worried. I hoped that Nintendo would add greater elements to an already great game, but I also hoped that overall gameplay wouldn't change. Nintendo did not let me down! Mario Kart Wii is everything I could have hoped for - and then some! Gameplay is perfect and familiar and the fun of the original is still there. But the most incredible part of this game is the reinvention of old tracks from as far back as the incredible Nintendo 64 game console. These tracks have been pulled into the Wii Age beautifully! Mario Kart Wii is definitely a winner - and definitely deserving of that rare "10"...!!
Mario kart wii is a racing game with a twist, there are items to attack the other cars with. This game is fun like the others in the series. This version brings online play to the console, before mario kart DS there wasn't any. The big deal seems to be the wheel you get with the game, but it controls fine with the nunchuk. This game does have some problems, though. First of all, the item system isn't consistent. The person in first can't get all the items other positions get. This is fine if you're in eighth, but not for first. Being a racing game and wanting you to win races, ultimately this leaves the player with lousy items and no way to defend against his opponents with the good stuff. This makes coming in eighth in a race you lead since the start a very good possibility. Also, about the online play. They give you points for winning and take them away for losing. This makes no sense to me. How can you gain points this way, and the more you have the less you gain and the more you lose. It seems like they couldn't think of a better way to do it or something. Anyway, the game is fun but can make you angry at times. I rated this game an 8 because it's a good time but does have some issues.
