Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64 were some of the best games around, and they still are. They started it all. Too bad Mario Kart: Super Circuit and Mario Kart: Double Dash!! didn't live up to fan's expectations. Mario Kart DS, however, is quite possibly the best Mario Kart ever made.
So, what's new here? Probably one of the best additions in the Nintendo Wi-Fi. That's right: Mario Kart is finally online. Although you can't chat, and you can only play with 4 players, It's still pretty nifty. And you can make your own decals for your racers.
Of course, this new installment comes with 16 fun new tracks. Also, there are 16 Retro tracks that contain circuits from SMK, MK64, MK:SC, and even MK:DD!! Still no Rainbow Cup, though. Curses.
And let's not forget the new Mission Mode. Many of them are fairly easy, but going through them again and going for a 3 star rating on them will prove to be difficult. Very difficult. Now, how about some more?
And let's all welcome the racers! Mario, Luigi, Wario, DK, Bowser, Peach, Yoshi, Toad... And 4 secret contestants. Ooh! Secret! Although some are easy to unlock, there are some that'll be pretty tough to unlock.
While the graphics aren't the best in videogaming history, they are some of the best on the DS, aside from Metroid Prime Hunters. The controls are easy to get used to as well. Just don't wear out the R button! :P
In conclusion, MKDS is a truly amazing game. Despite the score of 10, it's not perfect, but if you own a DS, you simply MUST buy it. It'll make a great addition to your library of games.
