Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64 were some of the best games around, and they still are. They started it all. Too bad Mario Kart: Super Circuit and Mario Kart: Double Dash!! didn't live up to fan's expectations. Mario Kart DS, however, is quite possibly the best Mario Kart ever made.

So, what's new here? Probably one of the best additions in the Nintendo Wi-Fi. That's right: Mario Kart is finally online. Although you can't chat, and you can only play with 4 players, It's still pretty nifty. And you can make your own decals for your racers.

Of course, this new installment comes with 16 fun new tracks. Also, there are 16 Retro tracks that contain circuits from SMK, MK64, MK:SC, and even MK:DD!! Still no Rainbow Cup, though. Curses.

And let's not forget the new Mission Mode. Many of them are fairly easy, but going through them again and going for a 3 star rating on them will prove to be difficult. Very difficult. Now, how about some more?

And let's all welcome the racers! Mario, Luigi, Wario, DK, Bowser, Peach, Yoshi, Toad... And 4 secret contestants. Ooh! Secret! Although some are easy to unlock, there are some that'll be pretty tough to unlock.

While the graphics aren't the best in videogaming history, they are some of the best on the DS, aside from Metroid Prime Hunters. The controls are easy to get used to as well. Just don't wear out the R button! :P

In conclusion, MKDS is a truly amazing game. Despite the score of 10, it's not perfect, but if you own a DS, you simply MUST buy it. It'll make a great addition to your library of games.

This game takes everything you loved about previous Mario Kart games and puts it in the palm of your hand! There is a reasonable selection of drivers and each has multiple cars available. The single player games is a series of races known as cups and the game uses a point system to determine who wins the series. You'll find all the lovable gameplay normally associated with a Mario game. Turtle shells, star power, and chain chomps just to name a few. The tracks are well done and challenging and you'll get many hours of fun if you find a friend to race against or battle in the different multiplayer modes

In short, if you have a DS and you haven't played this game you NEED to and you might as well convince a friend or two to rent it too just so you get the most of your rental.

for anyone (child or adult) who loves racing games...this one's the one for you! it's simple enough that a child could do well, yet challenging enough to keep an adult occupied and amused. not only does it bring its own new tracks to the list, but it includes a few favorite tracks from all the prevous mario kart games!!! unlocking new characters and karts is always fun, and the mini-game style challenges are actually challenging (if you're aiming to do WELL and not just pass them...). this one is a definite rent, and for someone who is an avid mario kart fan, this one is definitely a collector's item! enjoy!
