Put the disk in-controllers died-game over

This game was built for the Wii U, it should use the controller that came with the Wii U, I don't have any old Wii hardware sitting around. Basically, a waste of a half a months GF membership. Waiting for the game to come, and then sending it back and reordering something else.?

No Gamepad Support At All!!!

This is why I gave the game a one star review:

I was excited to play it until I realized (at the main menu) that there is absolutely no Gamepad support what-so-ever. For Nintendo-exclusive title, I find that unacceptable. Forget off-tv play, you can't even play this w/o WiiMotes. Personally; didn't get Wii-U to use WiiMotes, I have Wii games for that.

I honestly just expect a lot more than that, this isn't Pikmin 3 or Wind Waker, where the Gamepad might provide maps and new gameplay options, why even release for Wii-U?

Could've Been Better With Different Controls

To be fair, this game isn't really a bad game, it just didn't stack up to my expectations. I really enjoyed the Winter Olympic games on the original Wii when the Winter Olympics were to take place in Vancouver, Canada in 2010, so I had alot of high hopes for this new one. Now i will say, the HD does make the snow and ice look very pretty like real snow, and the characters look pretty nice as well. The ability to customize your mii, the selection of extra music you can earn, and all the challenges in order to earn all this swag is just worth going for. However, the only flaw was in the control scheme. For example, for the events that require use of the gamepad expect you to swerve the gamepad rather than use the joysticks, and you use the gyroscope for much of the controls as well. The curling event was the worst, it required to to switch between use of the gamepad and wii remotes, which isn't as much a hassle when you have someone to play with, but if you're alone like me it makes for a big pain in the butt. Honestly, this game could've been successful if the game designers and developers didn't get so wrapped up in motion control and switching between the controllers, if they lightened up the wii remote motion controls or didn't make the gamepad so limited or use motion and the gyroscope it would've been fun for everyone. But alas, it is what it is. If I were to recommend it, it isn't a very high recommendation.
