I had my doubts about this game just for the concept alone... Mario and Sonic in a foot race. HAH!
But all that aside, it is interesting to see Sonic and Mario characters together in a game. The best part about the game is that it is actually physically taxing with some events, particularly the swimming and track events. It's a nice way to give your arms some work and to get that lactic acid flowing.
I agree with others that this is definitely a multi player game, as I got bored during the single player experience.
Another thing I personally disliked was the voice acting. It's pretty awful, and I think if a little more detail and effort was put into it, I'd have enjoyed the game more and would have played LONGER. The characters sound like broken records, saying the same 2 or 3 phrases OVER and OVER again. I swear some of the voice tracks were as dated as Mario Kart 64.
Definitely give the game a try if you need a little upper arm exercise and if you have a friend or 2 handy, and rent it from Gamefly and send it back if the replay value is looking grim to you.

This game sounds like a great idea, some of the events were fun yet all of them were way more difficult to control than expected. This game had great potential to be a lot of fun, it wasn't. It was more frustrating than fun, some of the controls were extremely confusing.
this game has a good idea going for it, but the gameplay just kills it. The controls don't register as fast as the wii sports game does and it gets really old really fast. Rent only do not buy and the only reason why i gave this game a 5 rating was because it had sonic in it. I could care less for mario
