this gaqme is a dose of pure awesome....the only problem is that the levels can get a bit tedious when u have to fight monsters but gameplay is solid and level puzzles utilize combo actions well for varied gameplay.
This game is almost perfect. It's about 25 hours long which is really long for a DS game and it has great animations and graphics and it's funny for adults and kids because it doesn't resort to adult humor and it isn't dumb either. The sound is great, their are many environments, and the story is great and keeps you going. No matter where you are this game manages to bring new puzzles, new ways to play, new moves, new mini games, and new characters. The game ranges from helping a thwomp couple make a volcano erupt to putting out a fire by hitting Baby Mario with a mallet and making him spit water to racing through tunnels as a Mario and Luigi ball to beating up a caterpillar who drinks power juice. Overall this game is close to perfect. The problem? it's that fighting can get really frustrating and can happen too often and if it wasn't for the bros. items fighting would be dull. The boss's are really good and creative like a round Thwomp or a fire peanut-shaped martian, and the enemies are just as creative. The game is pretty hard and is a challenge so you won't speed through the game in a few hours no matter how good you are. A hint to beat the game without getting stuck every single boss (which by the way have between 1000 and 10000 life) is to take some time to explore the area and to battle all the enemies. Trust me, it's worth it. The only way you could not like this is if you hate Mario games, don't like any form of turn based games, or don't like walking around and exploring for cool items (which you don't neccesarily have to do but it's recommended). If you don't mind any of these things which 9 out of ten gamers won't mind then you'll enjoy this game. So if you got excited or intrigued or interested while reading this review then rent this game this moment and have fun.
It's fun from the start to finish but it is also very short. It's around 10 to 12 hours total your first time through. The graphics are decent but look more like GBA quality than DS. The battle system is the same as the previous game (all real time execution of move) and never seems to get old.
