What do you get with Margot's Word Brain? Well, you get six very short word games and a seventh that's the first six placed back to back.
The six games are as follows.
Hyper Text. Margot gives you a word (up to six letters) and a telephone pad. You type the word like it was a text message. If you get it right, then you score points and get another word. If not, then the game ends. It also ends after ninety seconds.
Work Link. It's Bookworm with no special tiles, a six letter limit, and a ninety second limit.
Word Mime. You get six letter tiles like in Scrabble and have to find all the possible words these letters make in ninety seconds.
Word Run. You and Margo take turns fitting letters into a six by six block to make words going vertically and horizontally in ninety seconds.
Word Safe. Two circles of letters surround a central letter. You make up to six letter words by using adjacent letters and by rotating the circles to place the letters just right. There's a ninety second time limit.
Word Search. Your task is to find three words Margot shows you in a six by six block in twenty seconds. If you do, then you do it again with different words and a different block. If not, game over.
Margot's Word Brain leaves out critical features. There's no difficulty setting, no multiplayer and no on line play.
Also, the presentation is one of the worst I've ever seen. All you see is Margot, a bad looking logo, and bland looking gameboards. Hearing the guys sing the titles of the games and "Game Over" dozens of times is aggravating.
I say people who aren't into word games will run for the hills.
And those who are into words games will get more of a challenge with many online word games (like Bookworm). Margot's Word Brain isn't very engaging; the ninety second time limit is too short, and the six letter word limit will make this game unappealing.
Margot's Word Brain should be placed on line and played for free; it's not worth $20.

If you're above the age of 12, or are a well-read 9 year-old, this game is most likely going to frustrate you. The controls are lousy, the control options (back, next, clear, etc.) are seriously lacking, and the internal dictionary is beyond insufficient. Even many simple words ("jack" for example) are not allowed or not in the dictionary. A tragic excuse for a word game. Not even worth the rent. Couldn't return it fast enough!
