sadly i will admit the loading time is slow. BUT! it keeps you from beating the game quickly!
my opinion is rent the original

ONE OF THE BEST RPG PSP GAMES I EVER PLAYED
MAYBE BETTER THEN FINAL FANTASY CRISIS CORE!
ITS THAT GOOD!

I liked this game but it's hard to discribe. You progress through the story by taking classes and completing assignments(more like quests). You can skip free time by sleeping or you can take on quests for more money and usually recipes for equipment. You can also get more information on your fellow students during this time. While exploring the different areas, you run into enemies which then opens a battle screen. There is a card shuffle element to the battles but it's random. It mainly determines when the enemies attack you and when your healing spell cycles back to you. One healing spell can heal your characters up to 3 times if the battle lasts long enough. Some of the other characters have unique spells besides the usual. As you complete classes you access new areas to explore some parts of which you can't access as a freshman. It also has an absorbing, somewhat mysterious, story.

The game is not that bad

I own this version of the game, the only thing I can say that is wrong with it is the load times. Even when you do the "Jump Start" option it still is pretty bad but not as bad. I played games with worse load times, Sonic Next Gen for example. Other than the load times this game is a solid title. If you cannot stand the load times though I would advise you to go with the PS2 version of the game.
