The good news is this game has improved a lot on announcing the in game situations with a recognizable voice with not many repeat quotes. Also the game looks very real when the camera is set behind the Pitcher. A few things that got to me were you cant use your profile when playing the computer while in the GM career mode to earn tokens for unlockables. Also I have never seen so many Willy Mays catches without even looking at the ball. This will make you mad so expect this to happen once or twice a game.

I love the MVP series by EA Sports but when I saw the screen shots and movies from this game I decided not to get MVP 07 and go with this one instead. this isn't a bad game but it's not a great one either.
The graphics are great!! The players are detailed and true to life, with a few exceptions, and the jerseys are amazing. When it's windy outside the jerseys flap in the breeze, very nice touch and it shows attention to detail. If only they showed the same attention to gameplay and controls.
I've noticed a few reviews mention that the controls are sub-par and that should not be ignored. After a couple games I had to switch the hitting from the sixaxis mode because it's just too frustrating. The controls are not presice enough to consistantly hit a pitch. I know that there is a learning curve with any new control scheme but this is just rediculous. If the controls are good I should feel challenged when I have a hard time but the lag between me thrusting the controler and the bat starting to swing is too much and it just gets agrivating. After switching over hitting became easier but it just feels old hitting a button to hit the ball which brings me to my next point.
The controls just seem plain and old after the playing the MVP series over the last couple of years. I really like where the sixaxis controller can take a baseball game on the PS3 but we are NOT there yet. Pushing buttons to hit and throw and pitch is just plain borring not to mention PS2ish.
The bottom line is that if you prefer graphics to gameplay you will love this game. If you want more substance in a game I would recomend waiting for MLB 07 The Show, to see how that game plays or pick up a copy (or rent a copy) of MVP 07.
